It can take up to 2 weeks from vehicle collection to getting the cash back in your pocket when selling overage or unwanted part-ex stock through traditional remarketing routes. With Dealer Auction, it takes on average just 2.9 days! Speeding up your remarketing cycle helps beat any losses caused by depreciation, and frees up more space for vehicles that will earn a greater margin at retail.

Not only that, vehicles sell for 4% more on average when compared to traditional auction houses. This means you could have sold the vehicle and had the cash back in your bank in less than 5 days.

Don’t just take our word for it, use the profit calculator below to see how speeding up your remarketing cycle will earn you more profit.

The technical bit – how is the profit calculated?

Here’s how we calculate your potential profit in four simple steps:

1

Every day a vehicle depreciates, while also taking an increasingly expensive spot on the forecourt. We’ve estimated this daily cost per space based on dealer type and location**.

2

Then, using your details, we’ve estimated your current trade profitably by multiplying the number of vehicles you have to sell, by your average trade profit per unit, then deducted the estimated cost per space, per day. This displays as your ‘current profit per month’ and ‘current profit per year’. This might show as a minus if the cost per space, per day across the number of days to sell is greater than the total profit.

3

The final step is to arrive at your potential profit figure with Dealer Auction and work out the difference to your current profit. To get there, we’ve multiplied the number of vehicles you sell each month, by the current trade profit our top sellers are achieving per unit. We’ve then amended the days to sell to our platform average of 2.9.

4

We’ve also considered the small amount of time it takes to load vehicles onto the platform and how the cost of that resource impacts total profit. While it takes our top sellers just eight minutes on average to load a vehicle on Dealer Auction, we’ve exaggerated this to 45 minutes, and based on an average annual salary of £30,000, that works out at £11.70 per vehicle.

As you can see, there are some serious calculations to arrive at your potential profit figure. But put simply, selling digitally can help you sell vehicles faster and earn more profit!
